For Dover Arts Developments You can reach the world from Dover festival Danny Bee: Radical Walker ,Travis Elborough: Writer and Broadcaster and Charles Holland: Architect and writer will explore Dover in fiction.
Dover’s symbolic significance has rendered it an important setting for literary fiction and popular storytelling. This talk will explore stories, books and song lyrics that feature Dover as both a setting and a protagonist, tracing its evolution as a symbol of Englishness, its role as a place of arrival and departure and the drama of its topography.
Dover Fictions will be a three-way conversation between writer and broadcaster Travis Elborough, radical walker and social historian Danny Bee and architect and writer Charles Holland. It will take place in the popular Vinoteq wine bar on Dover’s Bench Street.
