How We Used to Live – DVD released on 1 Sept

‘We can finally bring you news about the long awaited DVD release for ’How We Used To Live’.

The film will be available to purchase from 6pm (UK time) on Tuesday 1st September. It comes beautifully packaged with a 16 page booklet including stills from the film and essays by Bob Stanley, Travis Elborough and Andy Miller. DVD extras include unseen outtakes, two theatrical trailers and two layers of audio commentary (one with director Paul Kelly and score composer Pete Wiggs, another with script writers Travis Elborough and Bob Stanley). The film can also be viewed with a live soundtrack performance by Saint Etienne recorded in 2014.

If you haven’t been able to see ‘How We Used To Live’ nows you chance to own a copy.

The first 750 DVD’s sold come with a set of 4 postcards; 3 stills from the film plus the original theatrical release poster (in postcard format) signed on the reverse by all three Saint Etienne members plus director Paul Kelly, writer Travis Elborough and vocalist/score composer Debsey Wykes.

The DVD is priced at £12 plus postage and will be available to buyers globally.

A limited supply of soundtrack CD’s will also be available to buy from September 1st priced at £10 each. Anyone buying the CD and DVD together can purchase both for just £20 plus postage.

‘Writer Travis Elborough in collaboration with director Paul Kelly presents a screening of The Ace of Clubs, a new short film that marks the culmination of Elborough’s Chisenhale Gallery Victoria Park Residency 2014 -15.

The Ace of Clubs draws on Elborough’s investigations into the history of Victoria Park, its many leisure clubs and the importance of the park as a recreational space. The film compiles footage shot by Kelly over the course of Elborough’s Games for May event series and includes interviews with members of Victoria Park’s model boating and bowling clubs, offering a wry mediation on hobbies, place, and belonging.’

How We Used To Live with live Saint Etienne soundtrack – BFI Southbank, NFT1, 24 July

11124522_835185929903535_3264474537342955023_nSaint Etienne do the honours once again for a rare perform of ‘How We Used To Live’ with live soundtrack at NFT1 on London’s Southbank at 9.30pm on Friday 24th July. The screening forms part of a season of over 200 films about London shown by the BFI this summer (details below). The film will be followed by a DJ set from Bob Stanley, Pete Wiggs and Travis Elborough in the Benugo Bar. This is the last live soundtrack performance for the forceable future so it’s likely the event will sell out quickly.
